Issue #41 - MathsLinks Newsletter - resources for maths teachers
For the new term (in NSW at least) here are some explanatory PowerPoints by Stuart Palmer, particularly useful for the new Mathematics Standard course.

[And it was such a busy week, that I forgot to press send on this newsletter!]
Mean, Median, Mode
A PowerPoint about finding the mean, median and mode.

A PowerPoint explaining and giving examples about quartiles and the interquartile range.

A PowerPoint explaining the Standard Deviation.

How can early algebraic thinking be introduced?

In case you missed it

The formula for absolute error in the recently published version of the new Stage 6 Mathematics Standard syllabus for implementation in 2018 has been amended.

From 2019 there will be optional HSC exams for English Studies and Mathematics Standard 1. The way schools provide information to NESA about school-based assessment in these courses will also change.
